Ramona Jackson is the epitome of southern hospitality.  “A true southern girl with grit”, is how her close friends would describe her.  She believes in taking great care of others, both big and small, and passionate about making lives better.

She is the General Manager of the Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center and has worked with Marriott International over 35 years.  She has over 45 years in the service industry, with her first job as a server at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor, including a lifeguard for Waterville USA, Food and Beverage Manager at Holiday Inn, General Manager at Hampton Inn, and several roles within Marriott International.  Throughout her professional career, Ramona has received several awards; Regional Director of the Year for Marriott’s Select Service Brands, two-time Hotel of the Year for Marriott’s Courtyard by Marriott in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and General Manager of the quarter for Marriott’s Courtyard by Marriott.

Ramona currently serves on several boards, to include 2025 Campaign Chair The United Way of Greater Kingsport, Northeast State Community College Foundation Board, First Tennessee Work Force Development board, Tennessee Hospitality Tourism Association board, Visit Kingsport, and The Kingsport Chamber Foundation Board.  She is always available to volunteer for a great cause.

Ramona served as the 2023 Chairman for the Kingsport Chamber Foundation Board of Directors, working to bring a positive impact to our community.

She is a graduate of Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, studying Business and Marketing, and was the 1984 Miss Methodist University Queen and Miss Congeniality recipient.    Born and raised in North Carolina, Ramona is a diehard Carolina Panther fan and remains a fan in times continued challenge.  However, she cheers for all the Tennessee Teams and knows a winning team or program yields the best outcome for a community.

She lives in Tennessee with her family and loves animals.  She enjoys supporting the local pet shelters, volunteers as a Ring Master for the Kentucky Mountain Spotted Saddle Horse Association and absolutely anything that her involves horses.  She continues to ride competitively with her Tennessee Walking Horses, and especially loves her retired Rocky Mountain Stallion and world grand champion, Stoney Boy, who has made several appearances at the Kingsport Chamber Dinner, The Kingsport Axmen and stared in The Encounter’s commercial.  He loves the attention, and Ramona loves the adventures.

Ramona is truly blessed with all the wonderful opportunities she has been afforded in this generous community that embodies genuine care for others.  Dancing with the Tri-Cities Stars is no exception.  She looks forward to the challenge of not only dancing, but raising awareness and financial support for Jeremiah School in the months to come.

She invites all her friends to support her in this new adventure and of course win the ultimate prize of giving back to the most deserving.
