Katie Kennedy
Katie Kennedy is Director of Human Resources, Senior Vice President at Bank of Tennessee and an accomplished human resources professional with a diverse background spanning the financial services and healthcare industries. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from King University and later completed her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the same institution.
Katie joined Bank of Tennessee in December 2012 and has since played a key role in advancing the organization’s human resources strategy and employee experience. Throughout her tenure, she has contributed to a wide range of HR initiatives, including the development and implementation of workplace policies, employee engagement strategies, performance management processes, and programs designed to support organizational growth. Katie has helped lead efforts to ensure HR policies and practices align with both regulatory requirements and the bank’s commitment to a strong, values-driven culture.
In addition to policy development and HR operations, Katie spearheaded an internal team dedicated to championing the bank’s core values and reinforcing its culture as the organization expanded its footprint. She also leads a cross-functional team responsible for planning and implementing employee engagement initiatives that promote collaboration, strengthen morale, and foster a positive workplace environment. Through these efforts, Katie has helped support a workplace culture that prioritizes employee development, accountability, and shared success.
Prior to her career in banking, Katie gained valuable experience in the healthcare sector, where she held several roles in home health services, including Marketing Director and Patient Account Representative. These roles strengthened her expertise in relationship management, communication, and service-driven leadership.
Beyond her professional work, Katie remains actively engaged in her community. She currently serves as Vice President of her Homeowners Association Board, contributing to neighborhood governance and community development. She has volunteered with United Way, participated in programs with SCORE in Bristol, and has also taken part in volunteer home builds with Habitat for Humanity. Katie has been invited to speak at women’s events and regional leadership conferences, sharing insights on leadership, workplace culture, and personal development.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending weekends at the lake, riding motorcycles, traveling, and volunteering. Her professional expertise, commitment to leadership, and dedication to community service make her a respected and inspiring presence both within her organization and throughout the community.
