Dr. Ashley Baker

Dr. Ashley Baker is the owner of Family EyeCare Center, PLLC, in Elizabethton where she has practiced optometry for over 20 years. Her career has given her the opportunity to work with many patients in our community who have suffered from learning-related vision problems, eye turns, strokes, and other Neuro related vision problems. She also volunteers her time as the Sports Vision therapist for the ETSU baseball team.

Ashley grew up in Nacogdoches, TX, and she will tell you that you can take the girl out of Texas, but you certainly can’t take Texas out of the girl!!! She graduated from Texas A&M (Whoop!) in 2000 before making the move to Memphis, TN, where she attended the Southern College of Optometry. It was in Memphis that she met her husband, Philip Baker, a recent law school graduate at the time. Ashley and Philip made their permanent move to Johnson City several years later.

Ashley is mom to three children, Ensley (16), Jackson (14), and Ellie (11). When she’s not in the office, she’s soaking up all the school activities and sports events with the kids. In her free time (what free time?) she enjoys running in her neighborhood and traveling with the family.

Ashley and her family attend Grace Fellowship. She is a small group leader for young adult women who are such a great support system of sisters in faith.

Ashley is very excited to support the students of the Jeremiah School through dance. While it’s not unusual to find her breaking it down on the dance floor at events, she finds partner dancing to be a welcome challenge outside of her comfort zone!
