Justin Smith

Dr. Justin C. Smith is a native of Elizabethton, TN. He is married to the former Kerry Ball of Morristown and they are the proud parents of Holsten age 10 and Sabrah age 7. They currently reside in Elizabethton where Justin serves as the Vice-President and Clinical Director of Physical Therapy Services, P.A. Additionally, Justin serves as a member of the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association Board of Directors and President of the Northeast District of TPTA.

Dr. Smith was educated in the Elizabethton City School System and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Nursing in 2003. He applied to and was accepted by Belmont University in Nashville graduating with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2006. In 2008, he became the youngest physical therapist to attain Sports Clinical Specialist certification from the American Physical Therapy Association. Justin was the recipient of the national Physical Therapy Student of the Year by the APTA in 2006.

Dr. Smith has been recognized for his outstanding accomplishments in the area of Clinical Education of physical therapy students and Physical Therapy Services has been recognized by East Tennessee State University Department of Physical Therapy with the initial Site of Excellence Award. Dr. Smith has also been recognized by the University of Delaware where he has been the recipient of the University of Delaware Clinical Excellence Award. He has been selected as Clinical Educator of the Year by the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Smith has high expectations for his clinical students just as he does for the patients under his care. He continually strives to increase and improve his clinical and administrative knowledge related to his responsibilities at Physical Therapy Services, P.A.

Justin also conducts continuing education and staff development programs on a nationwide basis. He was selected by MedBridge, a continuing education company, to provide 16 hours of videotaping that has been condensed into five modules dealing with Sports Physical Therapy, especially related to high school athletics. These modules have been marketed world wide by MedBridge bringing Elizabethton to the world of sports physical therapy and exactly how he manages high school athletes. He continues to provide educational programs on national, state, and local levels.
